This exercise will serve as an opportunity for community, rural and tribal Healthcare Centers to assess their ability to respond to a commercial fire within their facility. Exercise participants will work through scenario information and injects dealing with activities associated with evacuating staff and clients from your facility during a structural fire.

Caduceus Shield Exercise Initiative

The Evacuation Endeavor – A Healthcare Center Tabletop Exercise is part of the national Caduceus Shield Exercise Initiative.

Exercise Scenario

At 3:16PM a client sitting in the Healthcare Center’s waiting area smells something burning and brings it to the attention of the Healthcare Center’s receptionist.

The receptionist does not smell anything burning so she decides to follow the client into the waiting area to determine if there is indeed the smell of something burning.

As the receptionist enters the waiting area she discovers that there is the distinct odor of burning electrical wires.

The receptionist immediately notifies her supervisor.

Exercise Participation Information

Your Healthcare Center can participate in this exercise for $600.

For information about participating in this exercise please complete an Information Request Form. Upon completing the form you will be contacted and provided with additional information.

Participation Information
Commercial Fire Registration will open once the exercise is scheduled From a conference room or similar location via the ONX System as part of your Healthcare Center’s Incident Management Team
* Everyone that will be participating in the exercise must register for the following reasons:
  1. Prior to the exercise important Read Ahead materials will be e-mailed to all registered participants. These materials are important to ensure your participation in the exercise is successful.
  2. At the end of the exercise only registered participants will be able to complete and submit their individual exercise evaluation (Hotwash).
  3. Only registered participants will be able to access and print their Certificate of Participation once they have submitted their individual exercise evaluation.
