This exercise will serve as an opportunity for community, rural and tribal Healthcare Centers to assess their Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) capabilities. Exercise participants will work through scenario information and injects dealing with the activities associated with responding to an active shooter incident occurring within the clinic.

The Clinic Down – A Healthcare Center Active Shooter Tabletop Exercise is part of the national Caduceus Shield Exercise Initiative.

Exercise Scenario

It has been an extremely challenging time for your clinic and the entire workforce has been under significant stress.

Your clinic has recently experienced a number of layoffs.

At 10:42AM, a recently terminated employee walks into your clinic armed with several guns and begins shooting employees and bystanders.

Your clinic must now deal with an active shooter situation.

Exercise Participation Information

Your Healthcare Center can participate in this exercise for $600.
For information about participating in this exercise please complete an Information Request Form. Upon completing the form you will be contacted and provided with additional information.

Participation Information
Active Shooter Registration will open once the exercise is scheduled From a conference room or similar location via the ONX System as part of your Healthcare Center’s Incident Management Team
* Everyone that will be participating in the exercise must register for the following reasons:
  1. Prior to the exercise important Read Ahead materials will be e-mailed to all registered participants. These materials are important to ensure your participation in the exercise is successful.
  2. At the end of the exercise only registered participants will be able to complete and submit their individual exercise evaluation (Hotwash).
  3. Only registered participants will be able to access and print their Certificate of Participation once they have submitted their individual exercise evaluation.
