This exercise will provide an opportunity for health department management and staff to work through scenario information and injects dealing with three infectious disease outbreaks occurring within their region.

The focus of this exercise is to provide an opportunity for participants to work through scenario information and injects to gain additional insight into the processes associated with providing infection control guidance to local healthcare providers, schools, public / private workplaces and the general public based on a three separate public health emergencies.

Caduceus Shield Exercise Initiative

The Contagion Containment – An Infection Prevention Tabletop Exercise is part of the national Caduceus Shield Exercise Initiative.

Exercise Scenarios

This exercise is comprised of the following three infectious disease scenario vignettes.

Vignette # 1 – Influenza Pandemic
Vignette # 2 – Ebola Threat
Vignette # 3 – Measles Outbreak

Infectious Disease Awareness Videos

Exercise Participation Information

Your agency or organization can participate in this exercise for $600.
For information about participating in this exercise please complete an Information Request Form. Upon completing the form you will be contacted and provided with additional information.

Registration will open once the exercise is scheduled From a conference room or similar location via the ONX System as part of your organization’s Incident Management Team
* Everyone who will be participating in the exercise must register for the following reasons:
  1. Prior to the exercise important Read Ahead materials will be e-mailed to all registered participants. These materials are important to ensure your participation in the exercise is successful.
  2. At the end of the exercise only registered participants will be able to complete and submit their individual exercise evaluation (Hotwash).
  3. Only registered participants will be able to access and print their Certificate of Participation once they have submitted their individual exercise evaluation.
