Mr Chris Floyd

Thank you for your partnership with Volunteer Florida, the Governor’s Commission on Volunteerism and Community Services, and Florida Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (FLVOAD) on the Hurricane Reddish Tabletop Exercise for the 2010 National VOAD Conference.

As often happens with disaster training and exercises, tow real-world events, the Haiti Earthquake and the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill pre-empted “Hurricane Reddish” creating an additional workload for Volunteer Florida staff and FLVOAD members.

In your typical “take up the slack” style, you made sure the HSEEP compliant exercise went off without a hitch, scheduling meetings and conference calls to develop exercise goals and objectives, working with the partners to develop the Exercise Evaluation Guides, creating realistic injects and keeping us all on task with the overall development of the exercise workshop.

The wonderful ONX System software permitted us to exercise 3 different disciplines at once in a short 1 1/2 hour workshop, and allowed participants to exercise in their regular area of work to hone their skills or to explore a new area of response to learn how their own discipline could interface with others.

The Hurricane Reddish Tabletop Exercise was a great success! The partners were very please with the outcomes and participants’ evaluations were excellent. Thank you again. Chris, for your commitment to excellence in disaster training and exercise!

Sincerely

Wendy Spencer
