This exercise will serve as an opportunity for emergency response agencies and organizations along with local government officials to work through scenario information and injects dealing with an active shooter incident occurring during a local community event.

Exercise Scenario

The annual community fair is currently going on in the center of your community.

This event draws many members of the community and is famous for the annual cook off.

At 6:24PM on the second evening of the fair, a sudden explosion is heard and gunfire erupts. Multiple calls flood into 911, reporting a gunman is shooting fair attendees.

Your community must now respond to an active shooter situation.

* Everyone who will be participating in the exercise must register for the following reasons:
  1. Prior to the exercise important Read Ahead materials will be e-mailed to all registered participants. These materials are important to ensure your participation in the exercise is successful.
  2. At the end of the exercise only registered participants will be able to complete and submit their individual exercise evaluation (Hotwash).
  3. Only registered participants will be able to access and print their Certificate of Participation once they have submitted their individual exercise evaluation.
