This exercise will serve as an opportunity for government officials along with their community’s emergency response agencies and organizations to work through scenario information and injects dealing with the numerous challenges associated with managing the consequences of a shooting incident occurring during a local community event.

Exercise Scenario

At 6:24PM on the second evening of the community fair, two individuals set off a pipe bomb then began shooting into the crowd as individuals flee the explosion.

Law enforcement officers who were assigned to the fair were able to rapidly respond to the situation identifying then shooting the armed gunmen.

During the mayhem eight people lost their lives while another 32 were injured.

Your community must now manage its recovery from this event.

* Everyone who will be participating in the exercise must register for the following reasons:
  1. Prior to the exercise important Read Ahead materials will be e-mailed to all registered participants. These materials are important to ensure your participation in the exercise is successful.
  2. At the end of the exercise only registered participants will be able to complete and submit their individual exercise evaluation (Hotwash).
  3. Only registered participants will be able to access and print their Certificate of Participation once they have submitted their individual exercise evaluation.
