The Training
The training is self-paced and can be accessed at any time.
Upon completing the training, participants will…
- Understand various roles and responsibilities of school staff and external partners during emergencies.
- Know the essential components of a reunification plan.
- Identify areas for improvement in current plans.
The Exercise
The exercise will serve as an opportunity for the management and staff that make up your school district’s Student / Parent Reunification Team along with your school district’s partner response agencies and organizations to work through scenario information and injects dealing with activating, managing and demobilizing a Student / Parent Reunification Center.
Exercise Scenario
In the wake of a 1:22PM school shooting law enforcement has notified the school’s administrators that it is safe for students to exit the school.
Within 30 minutes students are boarding buses to be transported to a location where students will be reunited with their parents.
School district personnel must now work through the challenges of establishing, operating
and closing a Reunification Center.
