This exercise will serve as an opportunity for public health agencies along with their local community partners to collaborate in meeting the health care needs of victims while re-establishing community health systems following an earthquake.

During this exercise public health staff and management along with representatives from local community partners will work together as a unified team to meet the challenges associated with meeting the community’s health care needs in the aftermath of a significant earthquake.

Caduceus Shield Exercise Initiative

The Recovery Readiness – A Public Health Functional Exercise is part of the national Caduceus Shield Exercise Initiative.

Exercise Scenario

At 1:47PM on a Wednesday residents throughout the area begin to feel the ground roll and shake. Initial seismic reports indicate that a 6.1 magnitude earthquake occurred along the area’s major fault.

Exercise Participation Information

Your agency or organization can participate in this exercise for $600.

Participation Information
Earthquake Registration will open once the exercise is scheduled From a conference room or similar location via the ONX System as part of your organization’s Incident Management Team
* Everyone who will be participating in the exercise must register for the following reasons:
  1. Prior to the exercise important Read Ahead materials will be e-mailed to all registered participants. These materials are important to ensure your participation in the exercise is successful.
  2. At the end of the exercise only registered participants will be able to complete and submit their individual exercise evaluation (Hotwash).
  3. Only registered participants will be able to access and print their Certificate of Participation once they have submitted their individual exercise evaluation.
