The North Florida / South Georgia PrepareAthon was part of National Preparedness Month 2015.
The focus of the PrepareAthon was to provide individuals, families, neighborhoods, organizations, churches, businesses and government agencies an opportunity to enhance their disaster preparedness and response skills.

Disaster Preparedness Video of the Day
To prepare North Floridian’s and South Georgian’s for the next disaster and to participate in the Workplace Down Exercise and / or the Civic Safeguard Exercise individuals could access and view each day’s disaster preparedness video found to the right.
Workplace / Community Exercises
On September 30th North Floridian’s and South Georgian’s had the chance to assess their disaster preparedness an response capabilities by participating in one or both of the following exercises.
There is NO COST to participate in either of these exercises.
Workplace Down – An Active Shooter Tabletop Exercise
The purpose of this exercise was to provide workplace managers and owners along with their employees an opportunity to enhance their ability to respond to an active shooter incident occurring at their workplace.
This exercise was designed for private sector companies / businesses, public sector agencies / departments and non-profit organizations.
Civic Safeguard – A Community Hurricane Response Tabletop Exercise
The focus of this exercise was to provide individuals, neighborhood associations, community organizations and churches with an opportunity to assess the knowledge and skills associated with preparing for and responding to a hurricane.

With over 1,800 disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery training videos the Just In Time Disaster Training is the most comprehensive, easy to search, FREE internet based source available.
