This exercise will serve as an opportunity for Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) members to assess current knowledge and capabilities associated with the various challenges of working at a Point of Dispensing.

During this exercise MRC leaders and members will be exposed to scenario information and injects that will challenge their ability to assist with establishing, operating then demobilizing a POD.

Caduceus Shield Exercise Initiative

The Operation Viral Virus – A Point of Dispensing Tabletop Exercise is part of the national Caduceus Shield Exercise Initiative.

Exercise Scenario

An outbreak of unusually severe respiratory illness is identified in a small village in southern China. Over the next 45 to 60 days the outbreak becomes a devastating Phase 6 Influenza Pandemic affecting communities throughout the United States.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) releases antiviral drugs contained within the Strategic National Stockpile.

Exercise Participation Information

There is NO CHARGE to participate in this unique exercise; however space is limited to the first 20 Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) submitting an information request form.
 
For information about participating in this exercise please complete an Information Request Form. Upon completing the form you will be contacted and provided with additional information.
 
Once your MRC is approved it will appear on the list of participating MRCs.

Participation Information
Influenza Pandemic Register Now From a conference room or similar location via the ONX System as part of your organization’s Incident Management Team
* Everyone who will be participating in the exercise must register for the following reasons:
  1. Prior to the exercise important Read Ahead materials will be e-mailed to all registered participants. These materials are important to ensure your participation in the exercise is successful.
  2. At the end of the exercise only registered participants will be able to complete and submit their individual exercise evaluation (Hotwash).
  3. Only registered participants will be able to access and print their Certificate of Participation once they have submitted their individual exercise evaluation.
** Prior to registering you should make sure that your MRC is on the list of approved participating MRCs.
