This series of exercises serves as an opportunity for management and staff that make up your community’s Disaster Recovery / Public Assistance Team to work through scenario information and injects dealing with the aftermath of a disaster.

Each exercise focuses on the challenges associated with coordinating debris cleanup and management.

The primary purpose of the Operation Pickup Sticks exercise is to assist you in identifying strengths and areas needing improvement regarding local debris management plans and procedures.

Each scenario has a full exercise devoted to the actions associated with managing local debris management operations.

Your community’s agencies and organizations responsible for debris management can participate in this exercise for $600.

* Everyone who will be participating in the exercise must register for the following reasons:
  1. Prior to the exercise important Read Ahead materials will be e-mailed to all registered participants. These materials are important to ensure your participation in the exercise is successful.
  2. At the end of the exercise only registered participants will be able to complete and submit their individual exercise evaluation (Hotwash).
  3. Only registered participants will be able to access and print their Certificate of Participation once they have submitted their individual exercise evaluation.
