This exercise will serve as an opportunity for the management and staff that make up your Hospital Incident Command Team to work through scenario information and injects dealing with response activities associated with a medical surge involving the release of a hazardous material following a vehicle accident.
Caduceus Shield Exercise Initiative
The Felonious Fog – A Hospital Surge Tabletop Exercise is part of the national Caduceus Shield Exercise Initiative.
Exercise Scenario
At 8:15PM, the hospital ED receives a report from the Public Safety Access Point (PSAP).
There has been a multi-vehicle accident on the major east west highway. Callers from the scene are reporting a tour bus, a tanker truck and several autos are involved. The tanker is leaking a noxious chemical.
The Fire / Rescue Department, Emergency Medical Services and local Law Enforcement have all been dispatched to the site of the accident.
The PSAP is advising the hospital to be prepared to receive multiple casualties.
Exercise Participation Information
Your hospital can participate in this exercise for $600.
