The focus of this exercise is to provide hospital management and staff with the opportunity to assess current workplace violence prevention plans while gaining additional knowledge as to how to recognize and mitigate workplace violence.
This exercise will serve as an opportunity for management and staff to work through scenario information and injects dealing with four separate workplace violence scenarios.
Caduceus Shield Exercise Initiative
The Infirmary Intimidation – A Workplace Violence Response Tabletop Exercise is part of the national Caduceus Shield Exercise Initiative.
Exercise Scenarios
This exercise is comprised of four scenario vignettes.
Patient Stalking Vignette
Stalking of a hospital patient by a member of the patient’s family.
Potential Active Shooter Vignette
Potential of an active shooter incident occurring within the hospital’s Emergency Department.
Threatening Individual Vignette
An ominous looking individual enters the hospital’s main entrance and then begins to make loud threatening statements.
Hospital Employee Firing Vignette
A recently terminated hospital employee threatens to seek revenge on his former boss.
Hospital – Workplace Violence Awareness Video
Access an awareness video to better understand the potential of workplace violence occurring within a hospital.
Exercise Participation Information
Your hospital can participate in this exercise for $600.
