This exercise served as an opportunity for the management and staff that make up a Hospital Incident Command Team to work through scenario information and injects dealing with the activities associated with a mass casualty medical surge involving a severe weather related microburst and commercial fire.

Exercise Scenario

Saturday – 6:17PM

The hospital’s ED has just received the following report from the local Public Safety Access Point (PSAP).

There has been an accident at the fair involving multiple individuals.

Fair employees were in the process of canceling the closing show as dark clouds began moving over the fairgrounds. Then, what appeared to be a sudden microburst toppled the stage causing a numerous injuries.

The PSAP reports that 911 calls are still being received from fair-goers.

Exercise Conclusion

The Country Fair Chaos Tabletop Exercise was held on June 29, 2016 at Hospital’s throughout western Connecticut.
