The purpose of this exercise is to provide participants with an opportunity to work through the various challenges associated with a campus-wide IT Failure.

The mission of the Campus Down Exercise is to assist colleges and universities in identifying strengths and areas needing improvement regarding responding to and managing the consequences of a system-wide IT Failure..

Campus Shield Exercise Initiative

The Campus Down – A College / University IT Failure Tabletop Exercise is part of the national Campus Shield Exercise Initiative.

Exercise Scenario

Wednesday – 7:37AM

It’s the second day of finals week and students throughout campus are experiencing a heightened level of stress due to their final exams.

Across campus students, faculty and staff are arriving in classrooms and offices ready to start another workday and begin exams. As computer monitors and laptops are turned on everyone notices that their computer monitor is displaying an error message.

Exercise Participation Information

Your university or college can participate in this exercise for $600.
 
For information about participating in this exercise please complete an Information Request Form. Upon completing the form you will be contacted and provided with additional information.

Participation Information
Campus-Wide IT Failure Register Now From a conference room or similar location via the ONX System as part of your organization’s Incident Management Team
* Everyone who will be participating in the exercise must register for the following reasons:
  1. Prior to the exercise important Read Ahead materials will be e-mailed to all registered participants. These materials are important to ensure your participation in the exercise is successful.
  2. At the end of the exercise only registered participants will be able to complete and submit their individual exercise evaluation (Hotwash).
  3. Only registered participants will be able to access and print their Certificate of Participation once they have submitted their individual exercise evaluation.
