The purpose of this series of exercises is to provide an opportunity for response agencies and organizations to work together to use various social media networks and mass notification systems to provide timely, concise and meaningful emergency / disaster information to the general public.
During the exercise participants will have the opportunity to identify strengths and areas needing improvement regarding the use and coordination of mass notification systems and social media networks.
Exercises
The Commanding Communications Exercise series is comprised to two distinct exercises.
Emergency Management Exercise
This exercise focuses on the social media and mass notification needs of emergency management / response agencies and organizations and is comprised of the following four exercise scenario vignettes.
- Active Shooter
- Earthquake
- Flood
- Hurricane
Public Health Exercise
This exercise focuses on the social media and mass notification needs of public health agencies and organizations and is comprised of the following four exercise scenario vignettes.
- Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) / West Nile Virus
- Extreme Heat
- Severe Flu Season / Vaccinations
- Foodborne Illness
Exercise Participation Information
Your agency or organization can participate in this exercise for $600.
